How to start and invite players
- Open Starfighter Arena and choose the shared sector, solo practice, a private sector, or a tournament.
- Confirm that you are at least 13 and choose a callsign or automatic label.
- For private play, share the generated sector or lobby link with the other pilots.
- Launch using keyboard, touch controls, or an available optional WebXR path.
Rules
- The server validates flight input, weapons, impacts, scoring, respawns, and match completion.
- Private duel and tournament sectors use their configured pilot and win conditions.
- Solo sectors can include aliens and computer pilots for practice.
- Leaving or losing a connection triggers the client reconnect flow; it does not grant another pilot control of the ship.
Browser and device requirements
- A current browser with JavaScript, cookies, and first-party storage enabled.
- A stable internet connection for protected HTTP polling on cPanel or WebSockets on supported standalone hosts.
- No browser extension, download, account, or third-party sign-in is required.
- WebGL and reasonably current graphics drivers are required for the 3D scene.
- WebXR is optional and depends on browser, device, and secure-context support.
Accessibility
- Keyboard focus remains visible on navigation and standard controls.
- Connection, turn, score, and result text is exposed outside visual game effects.
- Reduced-motion preferences are respected where animation is not essential to play.
- Keyboard and touch controls provide a non-WebXR path.
- Pilot count, contacts, objective, weapons, score, connection status, and game-over state are exposed as interface text.
- The scene pauses or reduces work while the page is hidden to limit unnecessary battery use.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a VR headset?
No. Starfighter Arena is fully playable with keyboard or touch controls; WebXR is optional.
Is the flight simulation client-authoritative?
No. The Python server validates inputs and owns world state, impacts, scoring, and match results.
Can I create a private sector?
Yes. Choose Private Duel or Private Multiplayer and share the generated link.
Why might flight feel different on cPanel?
The cPanel edition uses protected HTTP polling instead of WebSockets, so very fast simulation updates can have more latency.
